The Argead Star is the emblem of the Argead dynasty, kings of the ancient
Greek state of Macedonia, and it represents the four elements and the twelve
gods of Olympus.

Early representations of the symbol go back to at least the 6th century BC,
with hoplites depicted as bearing sixteen-pointed and eight-pointed sunburst
symbols on their shields and armor, and the same symbols being represented on
coins from both island and mainland Greece from at least the 5th century BC.
The Iliad describes the first panoply of Achilles as having star motifs.

It was the expeditions of Alexander the Great that extended this symbol
throughout Asia.

Piece made of yellow bronze. The ear hooks in gold-plated sterling silver.

All our items are delivered with very careful packaging, which includes, in
addition to the box, a label with the photo and the description of the piece
(Name, origin, date, material ...).
